no! it's not true!!
i have a goofy story about that. ok, so, i saw the movie in the theatre with my dad. we're talking about it afterwards and i ask "is it true that he's luke's father?!" and my dad says "no, it's an allegory."
for the longest time i thought that there was some deeper meaning about that whole exchange when, in fact, it was the most straight forward thing ever. ha!
